Steve's Ride

Steve is one of the owners for the Salt Creek Project. He reminds me of a James Dean type of guy, leather coat and all. He is a very nice, very sweet man, and well you just wouldn't pin him as the type to have a running joke on him.

So the running joke in the office happens everytime we see this little girl, I have to say everytime I see her "Look, she is riding Steve's new ride into the Grand Opening!" We laugh and laugh. It really is funny considering the ride it is--take a look:

Guess a limo or a Harley Davidson Motorcycle is out of the question Steve!

Wow another wall has appeared over night! Okay, well not really but things are moving along...and David is getting us there. I am really impressed with his work, understanding, and his get-go. Looks like we will be having safety meetings every week, something we haven't ever had before.

And this man has a construction bible! Litterally. He comes into the office with a book and says, "We are going to need this can you make a copy?" It is 60 something pages long with names, phone numbers, fax, and all sorts of people in what looks to be 12pt font! Wow! Can I keep saying IMPRESSED!!!

Even CVM is getting involved. Below are some pictures of the guys doing HVAC for the retail space. I am hoping that roof-top units will be here in the afternoon, and that we will be setting them the end of this week or the first of next. I am not sure. David does have a three-week schedule (yes that is right he gave me a schedule, and it looks great), I need to check it to make sure. But believe me next week is going to be all construction down at the site with people working on storefront, the theater, and trying to get the parking lot for the retail space figured out....yep busy!

April 20, 2009

The theater building is started!! A.D. Construction spent most of the morning trying to figure out the bolts, making corrections and getting the newest members of the site set up. Beams (at least that is what I think they are)!!! So exciting. Before long most of the wall beams will be up and a building will be on site. Since the construction phase is so quick I will be posting pictures very often.

We also had the pleasure of awarding some bids and they will be notified tomorrow. The storefront for the retail space is our next direction, we want it done so Quiznos can get moving and the parking lot can get started. Hopefully the end of the month their will be some major changes.

Meet our Project Supervisor

Dave Curtis is our new supervisor for the theater project, we are thrilled to have him!

He seems to be a nice, down to earth guy that wants to get this project moving. One thing about Dave: He is a BIG guy. I mean tall and he has a presence about him. I think it is one of the first things you notice about him, the second is his voice... Booming! Seriously this guy impresses me. His work so far has been trying to get the project back on schedule, and get the project moving in the right direction. Knowing his work ethic and enthusiasm we will have this project busy and moving in no time.

Thanks Dave for trying to get us going in the right direction!
