WOW

Our Logo....isn't it great. Thank you to Matt Howard for the logo, we absolutely love it. Okay so we are moving so fast with the theater progression that all I can say is WOW!!!!!! So many changes have occured in a weeks time. I went inside the theater today and the large cinema riser concrete has been poured. The more I looked around the more I realized the whole thing has changed so much!!! Take a look at the pictures!

Here are the risers poured for the large theater:

Look at the front of the concessions area:

A lot of the site work is progressing, we are trying to finish the parking lot and prep for asphalt next week. Some of the sidewalks have been poured, and things are looking pretty good. I will be posting more pictures next friday...can't wait to see the progression!!!

2 weeks of changes

So many things are changing in the theater, and the schedule is changing so rapidly we are trying to keep up. Here are a few changes that are occuring:

A week ago the risers and interior of the building....

Now the interior of the building...

Much of the framing is being done now, and the HVAC is being worked on. Soon enough we will have electrical, concrete, paving, and all sorts of trades in the building. I am thrilled with the way that the risers and the interior for the theaters are coming along--Dave you and the guys are doing a great job.

Construction

Construction really slowed down for the month of July. We now have walls up, foam risers under construction, and construction really seems to be speeding up significantly.

As for the opening date it has been pushed back to mid-September. Not great, but we are pushing as fast as we can. Dave is rushing things along, and we are working for a tight opening date...soon to be announced.

Quiznos is doing well, they are busy as usual and we hope that it stays that way. We do have a small announcement on that side of things, Melica Estes was named our Assistant Manager. WE absolutely love her. Congrats Melica!!!

QUIZNOS IS OPEN!!!

Yes it is finally open. The girls in the office tried to be the first customers but we were a little late unfortunately. We had a really good time though, the service was great, and the atmosphere friendly. Good job guys!!!!

Quiznos is HERE!!!

BEFORE

AFTER

Yes after many and I mean MANY hours of labor, loving care, phone calls, faxes, interviews, and everything else it takes to get a business together it is finally here--QUIZNOS!!!!

We are so excited that we are finally going to open the doors, and start our new little sandwhich shop in Nephi!!!

I am hoping to have some pictures of our first crew, and show some of the inside before the doors open for business this week. Cross your fingers for us because we are trying to open JULY 2. Come visit us, have a sandwhich and get to know our friendly crew that is still training!!!

6-1-09

I haven't posted for a long while....but with my computer being down it makes it really hard to download and post pictures. So pics will definitely be posted tonight.

The buildings are coming along very, very well. The retail space is all but done, the exterior is all but completed. The interior for the Quiznos is coming along--I still haven't seen the inside but I hear it is painted!!! I am going to try to get pictures this Thurs. of it. Materials for the opening will be here soon, and the coolers will be here before we know it. I am very excited.

As for the theater we are moving a little bit slower, the weather the last couple of days has put us behind....and lets be serious subcontractors don't like to work very hard after a long weekend (darn Memorial weekend). The roof is a quarter of the way on, electrical for it is being designed as we speak, and fire sprinklers should be coming along, drywall and acoustical ceiling next, and then the pouring of the floor. After that it will be rush, rush to get to where we need to be. I can hardly believe that in two weeks the building won't even look the same (if we can keep the subs moving.....please help us by crossing your fingers at this point).

Our project manager, Dave, is helping lots, and lots. He keeps us moving, and the subs in line. He is so on top of things that he is ahead of me most of the time by a few steps, can I say way impressed again. We are very glad we hired him.

Steve's Ride

Steve is one of the owners for the Salt Creek Project. He reminds me of a James Dean type of guy, leather coat and all. He is a very nice, very sweet man, and well you just wouldn't pin him as the type to have a running joke on him.

So the running joke in the office happens everytime we see this little girl, I have to say everytime I see her "Look, she is riding Steve's new ride into the Grand Opening!" We laugh and laugh. It really is funny considering the ride it is--take a look:

Guess a limo or a Harley Davidson Motorcycle is out of the question Steve!

Wow another wall has appeared over night! Okay, well not really but things are moving along...and David is getting us there. I am really impressed with his work, understanding, and his get-go. Looks like we will be having safety meetings every week, something we haven't ever had before.

And this man has a construction bible! Litterally. He comes into the office with a book and says, "We are going to need this can you make a copy?" It is 60 something pages long with names, phone numbers, fax, and all sorts of people in what looks to be 12pt font! Wow! Can I keep saying IMPRESSED!!!

Even CVM is getting involved. Below are some pictures of the guys doing HVAC for the retail space. I am hoping that roof-top units will be here in the afternoon, and that we will be setting them the end of this week or the first of next. I am not sure. David does have a three-week schedule (yes that is right he gave me a schedule, and it looks great), I need to check it to make sure. But believe me next week is going to be all construction down at the site with people working on storefront, the theater, and trying to get the parking lot for the retail space figured out....yep busy!

April 20, 2009

The theater building is started!! A.D. Construction spent most of the morning trying to figure out the bolts, making corrections and getting the newest members of the site set up. Beams (at least that is what I think they are)!!! So exciting. Before long most of the wall beams will be up and a building will be on site. Since the construction phase is so quick I will be posting pictures very often.

We also had the pleasure of awarding some bids and they will be notified tomorrow. The storefront for the retail space is our next direction, we want it done so Quiznos can get moving and the parking lot can get started. Hopefully the end of the month their will be some major changes.

Meet our Project Supervisor

Dave Curtis is our new supervisor for the theater project, we are thrilled to have him!

He seems to be a nice, down to earth guy that wants to get this project moving. One thing about Dave: He is a BIG guy. I mean tall and he has a presence about him. I think it is one of the first things you notice about him, the second is his voice... Booming! Seriously this guy impresses me. His work so far has been trying to get the project back on schedule, and get the project moving in the right direction. Knowing his work ethic and enthusiasm we will have this project busy and moving in no time.

Thanks Dave for trying to get us going in the right direction!

March 20, 2009

This is the newest pictures of the site. Other pictures were taken last Tues. but somehow (and don't ask me how this happens with a digital camera) they were over-exposed. I think it might have something to do with the SD Card. Anyway, since last week sheathing has been put on the retail space and the framers have been moving like mad. I am very impressed with the progress.

As for the theater there has still been some delay, but most of the back footings have been poured and somewhat finished. When I took these pictures there was a meeting with the PM and the crews that were working on the forms...so I didn't get the whole run down. Before you know it though the electrician and plumber will be at the site working on the retail space and sheet rock will be hung.
